PEACOCK BASS

Despite their name, Peacock Bass are not true bass at all. There are several species that fall within the Peacock Bass genus.
Most are identified by their distinctive tail spot that looks like the eye on a peacock feather.
The Speckled Peacock Bass (Cichla temensis) is the largest species, reaching up to 1m in length.
Being amorous fighters, Peacock Bass make for great sport fishing and are a prized catch for anglers of all skill levels.
