ACCOMODATION

JUNGLE LODGE

Pluma is a crystal clear freestone river, with an incredibly rich and beautiful topography. It runs from south to north, parallel to the Mosetenes Mountain Range, and is therefore slightly broader and more open than some of the other rivers we fish at Tsimane. The Pluma is easier to wade due to its wide banks, mostly composed of round smooth gravel and rock. Further upstream, it does get steeper and more rugged. This river is home to all four of the main species we target at Tsimane: Dorado, Pacu, Yatorana, and Surubí..

Passports & Visas
A valid passport is mandatory for entry into Bolivia. Your passport must be valid for at least six months. From February 2021 on, a visa is required for American (USA) citizens. For most European countries, no visa is required, but we recommend visiting www.Bolivia-usa.org to check if your country belongs to group 1 (no visa required), group 2 (visa required), or group 3 (visa required). Bolivia has an easy visa procedure and we’ll provide you everything you need to do it.

Vaccine

A Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate is recommended to enter any indigenous Territory in Bolivia.

Insurances

We strongly recommend securing insurance that covers medical contingencies while abroad and cancel for any reason travel insurance.

Baggage

Please do not bring unnecessary weight to the lodge. We use charter planes for air transfers to and from the lodge, and we strictly enforce weight limitations. We recommend this for travelling clothes, etc. The camp has daily laundry service, so bringing a lot of clothing is not necessary. It is strongly recommended to be aware of the weight of the luggage, which must not exceed 25 kg.

PLUMA LODGE
The Pluma is a very comfortable jungle lodge, built entirely from sustainable wood cut from the nearby jungle. The lodge features 12 single cabins and 5 double rooms in total.

International cuisine paired with great Argentinean / Chilean / Bolivian wines in a well-fashioned living and dining room.
Massage room
Free Wi-Fi
Free laundry
Fly shop

Home to the largest variety of techniques and angling possibilities, Pluma Lodge offers anglers freestone-style fishing, with sand bars featuring plenty of structure. As the most productive dorado fishery, Pluma often provides stellar feeding frenzy opportunities as anglers fish both small, crystal-clear streams and the lower sections where large, migratory fish live. Pluma is home to eight anglers per week.

Rods & Reels:
We recommend  8 0r  9 weight rods for one hand, The ideal is to carry two 8/9 rods, one rigged with a floating line and the other with a clear-tip intermediate line.

Tackle & Gear:
We strongly recommend Thomas & Thomas Exocett SS350 rods, Nautilus NV-G 9/9 reels, Scientific Anglers Mastery Jungle lines, Absolute Fluorocarbon shock leader and Absolute Predator 7×7 knottable wire. We have a small fly shop with lines, fluorocarbon, wire and a good assortment of flies at the lodge.

Please get in touch with us for more indepth information on all travel, tackle & gear requirements.
