It is renowned for its oversized fangs, torpedo-shaped body, and explosive strikes, making it one of the most exhilarating
species to target in freshwater sportfishing.
They inhabit fast-flowing rivers in South America and feed on fish.
Anglers use heavy tackle with large lures or live bait, often fishing in turbulent waters where payara hunt.
